Uday Choudhary’s Experience in Building a Career in IOT Technology

Even if you have never heard of the term “Internet of Things”, you have most certainly been a part of it in some way. Essentially, the Internet of Things refers to the vast network of physical electronic devices we use on a regular basis, which connects and exchange data. This definition has evolved to incorporate a variety of technologies, real-time analytics, machine learning and other data-related concepts, making IoT one of the most burgeoning and sought-after skills in the analytics space today. We spoke to a former student of ours, Uday Choudhary, who recently completed the IOT course at Jigsaw Academy, and very graciously shared his thoughts on the program, the course material, faculty and what he has planned going forward.

Having completed his B.Tech and a Masters in Finance, Uday came across a post on LinkedIn, which first sparked his interest in IoT. “After doing my research, I saw what a promising field it is,” he told us. “All the big companies are betting on it, and the boom is expected within the next couple of years. It’s also relatively unexplored, so there are currently plenty of opportunities available to qualified professionals.” Another aspect of IoT that appealed to Uday was the versatility of the field. “Very often, you’re required to choose between hardware and software and become a master of either. One of the great things about IOT is that it covers both parts in enough detail.”

All that was left was to figure out where to do a proper course on IOT, and that’s where he found out about Jigsaw Academy. After going through the beginner’s course on our website, he decided to enroll in the Full Stack IoT program. “I’d received very good feedback about Jigsaw even before I signed up for the course. And after doing enough research online, I found that it was the only institute that was offering an exhaustive course that covered both analytics, as well as the professional aspects of IOT.”

As for the course itself, Uday was full of praise for the way things were structured and delivered. “The course material was excellent,” he said. “The videos, in particular, were a highlight – the graphics looked very professional, and explained all the concepts in excellent detail, especially more complex subjects like Raspberry Pi and microcontrollers. The courses also had an excellent balance between theoretical and practical material. And I have to give a special mention to the faculty members, who were very helpful with everything. They answered all the questions I had, and guided me through the entire course with complete ease.”

While the analytics portion of the course is yet to be completed, Uday is already working towards building a career in the field. “An interview opened up for me while I was still doing the course, and I’m hoping it will translate into a good professional opportunity. IoT is certainly a field with tremendous potential, and by learning the concepts thoroughly, you can stand to gain a lot in your career.”
