Interested candidates will have to fill up an online application form. Those who match the eligibility criteria for placement guarantee* will have to undergo an online assessment test depending upon their graduation streams. Candidates clearing the assessment successfully may undergo a video call-based interview.

Here are the eligibility criteria for the program:  

• Candidates who’ve graduated with 50% and above marks from a recognized institute/ university with either mathematics, statistics, or programming as a subject in a qualifying degree can apply. 

Note: Since the program starts from scratch, and aims at helping the participants to get in-depth understanding of the subjects, coding experience is not mandatory.

The following learners are eligible for placement guarantee*: 

• Candidates who have upto 4 years of work experience 
• Candidates who have graduated in or after 2018

Please note that Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) is not responsible or does not offer any placement support, assistance or placement guarantee post-program completion of the PG Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning.

The following learners are eligible for placement assistance*: 

• Candidates who have 4+ years of work experience 
• Participants who have graduated in or before 2017 
• Learners who have graduated in 2018 and do not possess work experience for a minimum of one year

The admission test will be based on the following:

You will get a total of 60 minutes to complete the Verbal Ability, Thinking Skills, Programming Ability & Technical Ability sections and 60 minutes to complete the Coding Assessment section.

In this online placement guaranteed* program, you will master tools such as Python, Power BI, Big Data Tools (Pyspark, Hive and more), SQL, Microsoft Advanced Excel. Additionally, the program also covers packages like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and Keras.

During the 9-month online PG Certificate Program In Data Science and Machine Learning, a learner will work on 2 Capstone Projects. The first one will be the “Integrated Capstone Project” (Module 7 – 16 hours). Every learner who successfully completes and fulfills the Academic Requirements of the PG Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), and conforms to the program’s disciplinary norms will be offered UNext’s Placement Guarantee*.

The assessments will be conducted as follows: 
 
The details regarding the test login credentials and the instructions for taking the tests will be communicated to the applicants via mail within a few days of receiving the completed application form. The applicants can take the tests at their locations as per their time convenience within the specified test window duration.

As per UNext’s placement guarantee* feature, every learner who has successfully completed and fulfilled the academic requirements of the Post Graduate Certificate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and strictly adhered to the program’s disciplinary norms will be provided with at least 3 job opportunities. By the end of the program, there would be an additional 3 months within which the job opportunities shall be provided to all the eligible learners. 

Placement Duration is typically the 3-month duration after completion of the program in which Placement Cell brings in opportunities for the candidates who are eligible and would like to avail UNext’s placement guarantee* feature.

Placement Assistance Duration is typically the 3-month duration that comes after the Placement Duration. The Placement Cell brings in opportunities for learners even during the Placement Assistance Duration. However, those covered under the UNext Placement Guarantee* feature will get an additional stipend for these 3 months or until the receipt of an offer, whichever is earlier.

For example: If the 9-month course begins in March 2023 and gets over in the month of December 2023, then January 2024 to March 2024 will be considered as the “Placement Duration” and April 2024 to June 2024 will be the “Placement Assistance Duration”.  

Placement Duration is typically the 3-month duration after completion of the program. 

Placement Assistance Duration is typically the 3-month duration that comes after the Placement Duration ends. 

 As per the UNext’s placement guarantee* feature, every eligible candidate will be provided with a minimum of 3 job interview opportunities in the Placement Duration. If the learner does not get the minimum assured number of job interview opportunities during the Placement Duration, the learner will automatically enter the Placement Assistance Duration. During this time, the learner will continue to avail the placement opportunities from UNext and a payment of INR 20,000 per month for the subsequent 3 months (“Placement Assistance Duration”), or until the receipt of the Offer Letter during the Placement Assistance Duration, whichever is earlier. 

The Placement Assistance offered shall not be construed to be a promise of placement. 

Also, every learner pursuing the program, irrespective of whether they are eligible for UNext’s placement guarantee* feature or not shall continue to receive placement opportunities, unless the participant gets at least one job offer. Stating that, placement opportunities shall continue even after the Placement Assistance Duration is over.

A learner is eligible for the Placement Guarantee* only if they fulfill the following prerequisites:  

1. The learner agrees to adhere to the code of conduct (wherever applicable) and the other terms & conditions, including the student handbook set by UNext.

2. To be eligible for the UNext Placement Guarantee*, learners must meet the minimum academic requirements in each course in each term with respect to:   

1. 1. Classroom and lab attendance: Minimum of 75% attendance at the time of course end Assessment without makeup sessions 
   2. Academic performance in the tests, quizzes, and exams: Cleared each internal assessment/final assessment in the first attempt 
   3. Timely completion of the assignments: No late submissions of any assignment 
   4. Timely completion of the credits and submission of the project/internship 
   5. No backlogs in any course in the program: No late submissions of projects/internship documents
   6. Any other course-specific academic requirement.

3. Secure the following Placement Eligibility Score:  

• `Achieve a Placement Eligibility Score of greater than or equal to 60% by the end of the 9-month program 
• For the Technical score benchmarking, learners are required to be assessed with DO-SELECT or a similar platform for assessments used for the recruitment 
• Scores should be minimum of 60% 
• Technical Ability (Conceptual Knowledge + Hands-on Skills) – Minimum of 60% score  
• Aptitude & Problem Solving, Data Storytelling, and Professional skills – Minimum of 60% scores  
• Tech Mock interviews – Minimum of 60% scores  
• Profile building (GitHub, Competitions, Projects/Portfolio) – Minimum 60% score

4. Participate in all preparatory placement sessions organized by UNext placement cell 

5. Fees payment: To be eligible for the UNext Placement Guarantee*, the learner must ensure all fees for the program are paid on time as outlined in the fee structure and payment schedule shared at the time of admission. Any delays in payment of the Program fees will invalidate learner’s entitlement to the UNext Placement Guarantee* 

6. In addition to the eligibility criteria defined by UNext, learners must meet the requirements/ eligibility criteria for placement set by each partner organization (age/education/any employment condition). The learner agrees to produce the proof of eligibility (marks/age/etc.) at any point in time 

7. Please note that the following learners will only be eligible for Placement Assistance and not for UNext Placement Guarantee*. They will not be eligible for the pay-out as well. 

• Learners who have work experience of more than 4 years
• Learners who have graduated in 2018 and do not possess work experience for a minimum of one year
• Learners who have graduated before 2018 

While UNext provides Placement Guarantee* to all the eligible learners of the PG Certificate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning, the selection of a learner and final recruitment decision will be made by the partner organization and will be their sole discretion. It will be binding between the learner and the partner organization. Additionally, the designation, compensation, role, place of work, terms & conditions of the placement letter, or employment letter are the prerogative of the placement partner, and UNext is not responsible for the same.

A “Placement Opportunity” is defined as a job posting on the LMS (Learning Management System) which the placement team provides after receiving relevant job requirements from a company.

A “Job Interview Opportunity” is defined as that opportunity in which the candidate is shortlisted by a placement partner for the selection process, which may include but is not limited to interviews, coding assessment, or other written and verbal assessments. A learner shall be considered to have been provided a “Job Interview Opportunity” if they are shortlisted for an interview, even though the student fails to appear for the interview or does not submit any other assessment required as part of the Placement Opportunity.

Any learner who applies and gets shortlisted for a Job Interview Opportunity must go through the entire selection process unless rejected midway by the partner organization. Any deviation from this will result in the candidate being ineligible for the UNext’s Placement Guarantee*. However, suppose they face an unavoidable situation amid the hiring process, because of which the learner cannot proceed further with the hiring process, then the student must inform the same by sending an email communication to the Program Coordinator, explicitly mentioning the reason for skipping the opportunity. If the participant fails to do so, it will result in them being ineligible for the UNext Placement Guarantee*. 

A learner is considered placed when the placement cell receives an email communication from the hiring company notifying them about the learner’s job selection with no further round/s of interview. 

A learner is still considered as placed and not eligible for any further placement opportunity: 

• In the event of the learner not accepting the offer/ not joining the partner organization even after getting selected 
• If any learner who is selected but not joined on the grounds of misconduct/ indiscipline will be debarred 

No. The learner has the choice to skip a maximum of two placement opportunities during the Placement Duration/ Placement Assistance Duration by sending an email communication, well in advance, to the Placement Coordinator, explicitly mentioning the reason for skipping the opportunity. The learner must attend to each opportunity extended to them in good faith. If they are found skipping more than 2 opportunities without any valid reasons, the learner will not be eligible for UNext’s Placement Guarantee* and will not be considered for any further placement opportunities.
