Choice is a publishing unit at the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACR&L), a division of the American Library Association. Choice has been the acknowledged leader in the provision of objective, high-quality evaluations of nonfiction academic writing. They publish about 5,000 reviews annually, are used by major institutions in US and Canada and serves National Libraries in Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award Winners for Taylor & Francis
The Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award is given each year by choosing a list of prestigious titles reflecting the best in scholarly titles that have been reviewed by Choice and brings with it the extraordinary recognition of the academic library community.
In awarding Outstanding Academic Titles, the Choice editors apply several criteria to reviewed titles:
- overall excellence in presentation and scholarship
- importance relative to other literature in the field
- distinction as a first treatment of a given subject in book or electronic form
- originality or uniqueness of treatment
- value to undergraduate students
- importance in building undergraduate library collections
