PGPDM Kickoff Session in New Delhi

This time around, the Postgraduate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning (PGPDM) will be hosted in two cities – Bangalore and New Delhi. With the classes in Bangalore kicking off last week, here is an update of the first contact class of the session in New Delhi.

The Postgraduate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning (PGPDM) is a highly specialized learning program for aspiring analytics enthusiasts crafted by Jigsaw Academy and University of Chicago Graham School, with IBM as the corporate partner. Geared towards building an elite bunch of technology professionals in India, this program offers intensive training in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Project Management.

After the initial meet and greet, Jake Braun, CEO of Cambridge Global Advisors conducted an exciting class on “Data Governance, Security and Data Science” which was well received by all in attendance. Mr. Braun has worked extensively on national security and economic issues throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America, and this experience has brought incredible insight to the students in understanding the concepts from a real world perspective.

This was followed by an intriguing class on “Data Sourcing, Management and Importance of Research Thinking” by Dripto MukhopadhyayGeneral Manager for Business Strategy and Innovation at Samsung Electronics. With his research interest areas including domains such as industry research, forecasting and predictive analytics, consumer research among others, Dripto brought in a very industry oriented perspective and engagement to his talk.
