Pro & Cons

Working in cyber security has its pros and cons. On the one hand, there are a large number of job opportunities for cybersecurity professionals, and there are many top-level highest paying cybersecurity jobs. On the other hand, these are demanding jobs that require long working hours.

Let’s first look into the Pros.

  • Huge Demand:

Cybersecurity experts are in demand. Sometimes the requirement is more than the number of available professionals. This gives the opportunity to the cybersecurity expert to select jobs as per his interest. With the speed at which companies are going digital, the future will need more cybersecurity experts.

  • No industry bar:

The best part of working as a security expert is that you are not bound by any particular industry. Every company needs a cyber expert, whether it is a hospital or an airline company.

  • Good Salary:

As compared to other career opportunities, salaries in cybersecurity are much higher. Even if someone starts their career at a lower salary, they get an increment and promotion pretty soon.

  • Work Independently:

Many Cybersecurity experts work as freelancers or as independent consultants. That gives them much freedom and work exposure to different industries.

  • Learning new things:

Cyber technology is an ever-evolving industry, and that provides the opportunity to learn new things. A person with a flare to enhance knowledge and learn new things would really enjoy this career.

Like any other profession, here are a few cons too:

  • Management support:

Management being non-technical, people sometimes fail to understand the seriousness of some of the aspects of cybersecurity. It hinders the overall process of security and risk management.

  • Monotonous:

At some point, the work of a cybersecurity expert becomes routine and monotonous. This may demotivate a challenging, loving person and fall in efficiency.

  • Stressful:

There is always a possibility of some new threats or attacks. For the security of systems and information, the cybersecurity teams are under constant pressure to mitigate the risk and combat any new attack.

  • New Updates and changes:

Cybersecurity experts need to stay updated with recent changes and keep learning about new software and cyber crimes, to provide better services in the market and be upbeat.

What Is the Difference Between Spring and Spring Boot?

Spring Framework (Spring) is an open-source application framework that provides infrastructure assistance to develop Java applications. Spring is one of the most popular Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) frameworks, which assists developers in creating high-performance applications using plain old Java objects (POJOs). It is used for developing stand-alone, production-grade applications on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).

Java Spring Boot (Spring Boot) is a tool that accelerates and simplifies the development of web applications with the Spring Framework by leveraging three core capabilities- autoconfiguration,
an opinionated approach to configuration, and the ability to build stand-alone applications. Spring Boot is an extension of Spring and makes development, deployment, and testing convenient, and spring Boot is used widely to make Spring developments faster. Let us look at the difference between Spring and Spring Boot but first, we need to know what they are.

What Is A Framework?

Understanding what a framework is essential to comprehend Spring vs Spring Boot. A framework is a reusable design platform for software systems, and it offers support to the code libraries and several scripting languages. A framework is something that can make the core programming easy. There are frameworks developed for all languages. These have been built to allow reusability of the code and to offer tools to let programmers build and develop various components of the software project.

Now that we understand frameworks, let us delve into what a Spring is.

What Is Spring?

Spring is a lightweight application framework. It is a framework for frameworks as it offers its support to several frameworks like Hibernate, Struts, and JSP. Spring offers comprehensive infrastructure support to develop Java applications. It has excellent functions like dependency injection and modules like Spring ORM, Spring AOP, and Spring MVC. These modules help shorten the application development time and improve the application development efficiency.

Spring Boot- What Is It?

Spring Boot allows you to create a stand-alone Spring application that is production-grade. It is a Java-based framework and is used to create a microservice. Made up of 2 words – Spring and Boot, the first part is the Spring framework, and the second is the Bootstrap. So when you combine both the works, you get a bootstrap Spring application from scratch. Spring Boot eliminates the XML configuration that a Spring application needs, letting it develop a faster and more efficient ecosystem.

Difference Between Spring and Spring Boot

Here are the major Spring and Spring Boot differences.

  • Spring is a lightweight open-source framework that is used to develop enterprise applications. Spring Boot is built on the conventional Spring framework and is used to build REST APIs.
  • Dependency injection is a crucial part of the Spring framework, and auto-configuration is an essential Spring Boot feature.
  • Spring helps create loosely coupled applications, and Spring Boot assists in building stand-alone applications.
  • You would need an explicit server to run the Spring application, and Spring Boots offer embedded servers like Jetty.
  • You would need a deployment descriptor to run the Spring application, which is not required in Spring Boot.
  • Spring applications need many lines of codes which are limited in Spring Boot.
  • Spring does not offer support for the in-memory database, and Spring Boots support in-memory databases like H2.

Why Is Spring Boot Preferred Over Spring?

Spring Boot’s advantages are many. Spring Boot has a default configuration that offers faster application bootstrapping. Spring Boot takes an opinionated view of the Spring starter dependency for an efficient and simpler build-up of the app configuration. With Spring Boot, you do not have to worry about the version not matching because many starter projects offer easy integration like Spring Boot Starter Web and Spring Boot Starter Test. With embedded servers like Jetty, execution is much easier than Spring, which needs its servers to run an application. You avoid any boilerplate code with the Spring Boot, which helps to reduce time and increase your productivity.

Conclusion

Spring is an application framework that is light in weight, and it offers support to several frameworks. Spring Boot is used mainly to develop the REST APIs. The key difference between Spring and Spring Boot is its features, and Spring uses dependency injection while it is auto-configuration in Spring Boot. Spring Boot thus helps reduce the development time and the developers’ effort, which increases productivity. Check out our Full Stack Development course to learn more about the differences between the two and comprehensively understand the topic.

Furthermore, he adds, ” Special thanks to Mr. Mozes, who provided his exclusive assistance in all issues. At the beginning of this course, I went through a very very difficult period as my mother was hospitalized. She had to go through very critical treatment. I was in the hospital 24hrs but still attended sessions. At my request, video recordings of those sessions were extended on my request. Which helped me to some extent to complete related quizzes.”

“I am the first student enrolled with IIM Indore SSM first batch. Today I feel proud and satisfied with my decision.”

Rahul Bose, Consultant at HCL Technologies, was looking to upskill in Sales Management and enrolled in IIM Indore’s  Executive Program in Strategic Sales Management. Reflecting on his learning journey, Rahul says, “I usually check reviews before making the decision. And hence I feel obliged to help others as well. I chose Jigsaw for my learning after going through reviews and talking with some of my friends. So far, it has been a great experience overall. My entire experience over the past 8 months since I first started interacting with them has been excellent. Initially, I got complete information from Aditya from Jigsaw. Later, once the admission was completed, Rahul Moses supported and helped us with all the required resources. We had a great introduction and comprehensive sessions by the Program Director. All the classes – both from Jigsaw and IIM Indore were excellent. The reason is that with our limited time, they all provided the possible optimum knowledge and skill share. Initially, I had issues with finance; luckily, I could arrange it. And now, as it ends, I confirm that it was an excellent overall experience. It is good that the team is very honest, clear, and transparent about all benefits we get, and all of these are met. So, in case you are a student, please consider this a vote of confidence from my end, get complete information, and decide.”

“ I was looking for a Sales related program that can add value to my knowledge, skill sets, and also resume.  I found one that fit my needs – The Executive Program in Strategic Sales Management by IIM Indore and Jigsaw.”

Data Science is only for persons with an IT background. It is a persistent myth that many people believe. Although it is true that some IT professionals seek to advance their skills in analytics, this field is not only open to people with a background in programming and IT. Many successful Data Scientists began their Data Science careers without prior coding knowledge or IT experience.

Chethan Kumar, who comes from a non-technical background, pursued Jigsaw’s online Certificate Program in Full Stack Data Science and transformed into a proficient Data Science Professional in just 6 months.

Sharing his learning experience, Chethan says, “I have enrolled in the Full Stack Data Science Program (FSDS). Initially, I was a bit worried about coding and stuff since I am from a non-technical background. But Jigsaw and its faculties helped me understand things better right from the basics. Their contents are well structured; it helped me gain the right knowledge and skills, which are very much required for a Data Analyst. I especially thank all the Jigsaw faculties who helped me with the FSDS certification.”

Our Certificate Program in Full Stack Data Science is the most comprehensive program aligned to competency standards developed by SSC NASSCOM, which allows its participants to master all three elements of Data Science –  Statistics, Tools, and Business Knowledge.

How does one make the most of the Certificate Program in Full Stack Data Science?

Data Science

Offering hands-on practice through Capstone Projects, Case studies/Term-End Mini Projects, the online program allows learners to implement Data Science techniques by using tools like Python and Python packages like Numpy, Pandas, Scikit Learn, Scipy, Excel, Tableau, Hadoop, Pig, Hive, and Spark.

At Jigsaw, participants learn by watching the course videos and completing the assignments, but applying what they have learned is what really solidifies their understanding. Learners have access to various case studies, competitions, and contests, some of which were developed by professors and others by industry experts.

Manoj Jain, one of our returning alumnus, says, “Sometime around Feb’22, I decided to give the course another chance, this time depending solely upon the online content (and Google as a backup!), and I discovered that it was possible to complete the course if one put in some dedication and sustained effort. And the reason for writing the review is to praise the support team at Jigsaw, which was very supportive, responded to all queries promptly, and granted two extensions to me to complete the course without charging any extra fees.”

It is always a pleasure to extend our services and support to all our learners. We take pride in seeing our learners ace their upskilling journeys. Chethan & Manoj’s career transformation journeys clearly bust the myth that people from non-IT backgrounds cannot enter the Data Science realm. All you need is a bit of perseverance, commitment, and clarity about your desire. The rest, you can leave to Jigsaw’s Certificate Program in Full Stack Data Science to help you build your Data Science career.

• Duration

You should check the duration of their course. The different course has a different duration. You should pick the course you think you will be able to complete within the stipulated period. If you are a job person and have less time, you should go for a short period. But if you are a fresher and want to take your data science career seriously, you should always prefer courses of long duration.
