A master’s degree in HR or a professional HR certification does go a long way in improving prospects. The field also has many recruiters with qualities of an HR recruiter and a major in finance, business administration, business management etc., the role of an HR recruiter.

A Master’s in HR management or Business Administration also provides initial training in HR recruiter job descriptions and HR expertise in real-world business environments. An HR recruiter studies a variety of subjects like Training and development, Employment law, Compensation management, Labor relations and collective bargaining, etc., critical for an HR recruiter’s role.

One can enrol for accreditation, certification and competency tests from accrediting bodies like the SHRM- Society of Human Resource Management courses for certified professional, senior certified professional etc., HRCI- HR Certification Institute, SPHR- Senior Professional in Human Resources, PHR- Professional in Human Resources, GPHR- Global Professional in Human Resources, HRBP- Human Resource Business Professional, HRMP- Human Resource Management Professional, or the SPHR and PHR certifications from California Certification to enhance one’s qualification for Human Resources recruiter.

Professional certifications are also available for HR recruiters and recruitment specialists like the AIRS certificates, ACIR-Advanced Certified Internet Recruiter, CIR-Certified Internet Recruiter, CDR-Certified Diversity Recruiter, CSMR-Certified Social Media Recruiter, PRC-Professional Recruiter Certification, CSSR-Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter etc. and ASA- American Staffing Association, ’s ASA Certified search consultants and staffing professionals courses.

4. Salary Statistics for HR Recruiters

HR recruiters are highly paid. According to the US Human Resources Compensation Survey Report of 2013, the average of USD 234,900 was earned by executives in talent managem. USDUSD 89 900 was the average pay of a recruitment manager. Owners, CEO’s, recruiting agency partners had an average annual pay packet ranging from USD 149,000 to 215,000. Of course, these payouts depend on the size of the organization.

The BLS- Bureau of Labor Statistics reports of 2009 recruitment specialists earned a mean annual wage of USD 54,530, with their top HR recruiters earning more than USD 87,060. According to them, the top sectors for HR recruiter salary based on their annual packages were coal mining paying an average of USD 89,940, postal services with USD 89,390, wholesalers of home furnishing and furniture with USD 87 120, and equipment and computer manufacturing industries etc. with USD 81,720.
