CREATIVE LIVES AND WORKS, co-published with Social Science Press, New Delhi is a collection of interviews that is part of Cambridge University’s Audio-visual Library and being transcribed for the first time. Over 250 interviews have been conducted by one of England’s leading social anthropologists and historians, Professor Alan Macfarlane.
Filmed over 40 years, the three to five conversations in each volume, are part of a larger set of interviews that cut across various disciplines, from the social sciences, the sciences, to the performing and visual arts. Each volume, contains full transcripts of these interviews, that fall under broad themes such as Early Anthropology, Astronomy and Astrophysics, History, Science and Religion, and Literary Criticism.
Immensely riveting as conversations, these collections reveal that despite being wide-ranging, they are in some ways intrinsically related to each other. This rich collection of interviews includes several Nobel Laureates and other equally erudite scholars. The books provide an insight into the lives and works of these great minds and will therefore be appealing not just to those who specialize in these areas of study but also to the inquisitive mind.
Please note: Taylor & Francis does not sell or distribute the print version of the series in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
