Accessible Content

These guidelines are intended for both authors, contributing editors and those who wish to learn more about accessible publishing and alternative text at Taylor & Francis.

Alternative Text (‘alt text’) is a key principle of accessible publishing. A digital “accessible” text is one that provides equal opportunity to all readers, including those with visual or print impairments. Taylor & Francis is committed to the supply of accessible content, ensuring as many readers as possible have access to the content we publish. This site provides examples of alt text for images across a range of Taylor & Francis subject areas. Please use this site for reference when writing your own alt text prior to submission of your final manuscript.

Please review the Publishing Guidelines and Documents page for more information, including resources for creating companion website materials (PDF) .
